Digital Cliff, Rioux, 2014
This selected image is part of a larger piece, which was originally created as a vast 40 ft. wide panoramic artwork for the CRIM in Montreal.
In Digitale Scogliera Verde - Digital Cliff- Rioux proposes a vast territory based on two axes created from digital modeling and photographic matrix. Through the transmission of information in the digital age the horizontal axe illustrates that we are all circumscribed. In the vertical axe, the comprehension of information will always be analog.
Three key elements make-up this cliff: green illustrates the determinant rapport with our environment through software, the grey rock evokes the challenge we are faced with in our quest for knowledge, and the blue square (sky), a reminder of the incomplete transmission of information.
